Tell us about Mister and Floss?

We are a gift collective with carefully curated gifts, homewares and accessories in a little local store. We stock a range of products for all ages, all hand-picked and collected.

What inspired you to open Mister and Floss?

It was always a dream, especially in the past five years or so when we moved to the beautiful coastal town of Narooma, on the far south coast of NSW. The need for a small gift store to service our town and the many visitors we receive each year spurred me on. I am an Early Childhood educator and worked in Preschools for 26 years before opening Mister and Floss.

What is the meaning behind the store name?

These were my (now young adults) children’s nicknames given to them by their dad whom we sadly lost to Cancer when they were younger. It is a little nod to them and their dad.

Where can we find you when you’re not in store?

At home with my husband Brendan, we live on 12 acres so have space in the most beautiful area. We love getting to the beach or walking on our coastal tracks and paths. Bike riding or catching up with friends. Anything outdoors.

Why did you become a stockist of Coast Kids?

Coast Kids was one of the first products I stocked. I like the personal connection (even if by email or messages) that you form, your products are timeless, I love their versatility and the colour range is also attractive, it’s so nice to have a range of quality beach products that make great gifts. Especially in our beach loving area.

What do you like most about our products?

They are unique, and encourage open ended play, whether carting water or sand, digging for treasures or sculpting sand.

What do you love most about Narooma?

The unspoilt nature. Both the bush and the beach we are truly spoilt. It is relaxed a great little community to live in or visit.

Tell us, when visiting Narooma, what is your number one recommendation to see or do? Walk or ride our coastal path, it stretches the length of Narooma, Kianga and Dalmeny and you’ll find all sorts of interesting things along the way. Seals, stingrays, birdlife. All things natural.
